পালিঃ

অত্তানঞ্চে তথা কযিরা যথঞ্ঞমনুসাসতি,

সুদন্তো বত দমেথ অত্তাহি কির দুদ্দমো।

বাংলাঃ

মানুষ অন্যকে যেরূপ উপদেশ দেয়, নিজেকে যদি সেরূপে পরিচালিত করে, তবে স্বয়ং নিজেকে সম্পূর্ণরূপে দমন করে অন্যকেও দমন করতে পারবে। কিন্তু, নিজেকে দমন করা আসলেই খুব কঠিন।

If a person guides himself in the same way as he advises others, he will be able to control himself completely and control others. But it is really very difficult to control oneself.
